I remember when my Mom and sister would ominously tell me to just wait. What they meant was that once I had kiddos of my own, that losing weight would feel impossible. Well, they were right!
Over the past year, I’ve lost over 20 pounds of baby weight. But it’s been slow progress– with a lot of setbacks.
Two steps forward, one step back the whole way since having my baby. In my early 20s, I could decide to lose five pounds and drop weight in days.
Now that I’m a thirty-something Mom, those last five pounds could take me MONTHS, and that’s assuming I don’t drink wine (most nights).
It’s so frustrating. Despite hard workouts in the gym, I’ve been STUCK!
I’ve had a end weight goal in mind since I started this journey in early 2016, and I’m so close I can taste it.
That’s why when Personal Trainer Food contacted me to see if I’d be interested in trying out their one-month plan, I nearly jumped for joy!*
It seriously felt like prayers being answered, to help me finally reach my goal.
I got a very special delivery today! One month of food from @personaltrainerfood. My weight loss goals
I’m going to complete the program as written for the 28-day span, and possibly opt-in for a second month if things are going well.
This is going to seem crazy specific to you, but I’d like to lose a minimum of 5 pounds and a maximum of 10 through this process.
And, I’d really (REALLY) like to get rid of my ‘Mom pooch.’ It’s still there.
I work out my abs like crazy, but this stubborn pooch is there to remind me that “abs are made in the kitchen.”
It’s a fact: if your diet isn’t right, it’ll show!
Why PTF will work
To me, Personal Trainer Food will make the whole meal prep thing a lot easier.
When cooking for myself, I have the absolute best of intentions. I have to prep my meals every weekend so I can stay on track throughout the week.
But some weekends, we’re out of town. Or we’re busy with other things, and I’m doing good just to get groceries in, much less spend Sunday afternoon prepping!
So, let’s see if having frozen weight loss meals ready-to-go works!
28 Days Later…
Well, it’s been a month!
I completed their program over a 28-day period and am so happy with my results!
I wanted to lose between 5 to 10 pounds and wanted to end up with a much slimmer stomach. Remember: I thought that would take at least two months.
Well, I’m pleased to announce that I reached both of my goals! (Read on below for before and after pics and more information about the program!)
I just completed the high protein plan from @personaltrainerfood! I lost 6 pounds and dropped a dress size. So happy! I've got my fitness routine nailed down but I really struggle with eating the wrong things. Having a food blog will do that, I guess! They make meal prepping and clean eating as easy as popping something in the microwave from your freezer. I lost 6 pounds and ONE dress size in my month on Personal Trainer Food’s plan. Most of this weight came off my waist, which was exactly what I wanted.
More specifically, I had a fundraiser that I wanted to wear this Size 8 dress from ASOS to. I had already purchased it and it was way too tight through the midsection. I definitely should have bought a 10!
Well, Personal Trainer Food helped me drop that dress size. I haven’t been a size 8 since college!
I’m tall (6’0”) and getting down into the single-digits on sizes is a big deal for any tall chick!
You can see the difference here. I’m the one on the left in both images:
My favorite food choices
Breakfast: Any of the omelettes or fritattas. Yum!
Lunch/Dinner: Spicy Breaded Chicken Breast, Zesty Tenders, Teriyaki Chicken (this is thigh meat), PTF Blend, California Blend. All of the veggies are good, really!
What was great
If you’re busy and struggle with prepping for your meals, the Personal Trainer Food plan is excellent.
Everything is flash frozen and ready-to-go in a steamer bag for the microwave.
Being able to pack my home and work fridge with these meals and have them on hand was so convenient, and not having to even think about what I was eating was so refreshing!
Once I got through the initial slump (more below), I felt GREAT! I had a ton of energy and virtually no cravings.
I also saw fairly quick results on my stomach, which was my target area. I think there’s a lot of value in paying for help, especially if it’s on the food preparation side. It takes the guess work and the possibility for error out!
What was HARD
I hate to lead with this, but it was very hard for me to not have the occasional glass of wine on this plan. Alcohol can bump you out of fat burning, so it’s important to stick to the no alcohol rule.
Any setbacks I had were mostly alcohol-related. I’d go to a barbecue or party, or work happy hour, and have 1-2 drinks. And I could tell the difference the next few days.
Use all of your willpower to abstain, even if you’re headed to a super fun party! It’s just not worth setting yourself back.
Also, the first week or so was very tough. I had low energy, headaches and was very irritable.
The folks at Personal Trainer Food told me this could happen, and told me to drink a TON of water and take electrolyte tablets. This helped a bunch when I started doing both of these things.
And, I eventually did turn the corner and feel great again.
Once you get over the hump, it’s no big deal! Just stick to the plan and you’ll see great results.
Overall, I’m very happy with my results from a month of Personal Trainer Food! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I’d be happy to answer them for you!
