How I Went From Flab to Fit
I’m Mike Starks, the CEO of Personal Trainer Food. And, I know firsthand how frustrating it is when you try EVERYTHING — and can’t lose weight.
When I was young, I was a gym rat. Yeah, I was in amazing shape. But all that changed in 2005, when I had some much-needed back surgery. I couldn’t work out at all during my recovery — and it didn’t take long for my “hard body” to turn soft.
Once I was cleared to exercise again, I hit the gym with a vengeance. I wanted to lose the fat I had gained and build up muscle as quickly as possible.
But, it didn’t work. I just ended up sore, injured — and a flabby 225 pounds.
I knew I had to come up with something to help me lose weight and get back in shape. And dare I say, I wanted to get rid of the fat as quickly as possible too.
So I did a ton of research and taught myself how to eat better. The weight came off, and I’ve kept it off.
How Personal Trainer Food Was Born
But things didn’t start to snowball for me until I asked my wife a really dumb question. I’m almost too embarrassed to repeat it, but here goes…
I asked “Honey it’s been six months since you had the baby, why are you still wearing your maternity pants?”
Her look of frustration changed everything.
I decided I would help her by prepping all her meals so she could eat better. It got her on the road to start losing weight.
And at the end of 5 months, Lara lost an amazing 55 pounds. That’s when I realized that many smart people like Lara and you are confused about healthy eating. Believe me, it’s not your fault.
