Reversing Type 2 Diabetes Starts with Ignoring the Guidelines

What’s the secret to reversing diabetes?  In her TED Talk, Dr. Sarah Hallberg provides compelling evidence of how to reverse diabetes, and the solution is simpler than you might think.  

One key finding is the problem is NOT motivation.  Almost 50% of adult Americans now have diabetes or pre-diabetes.  That’s almost 120 million of us! People with diabetes often face shame, guilt and blame. Dr. Hallberg points to the real problem – using medicine to treat a food issue.

She argues some of the American Diabetes Association guidelines are adding to the problem.

Carbs are the culprit

What’s the real problem?  Carbohydrate intake is the single biggest factor in blood sugar levels and need for medication.

Dr. Hallberg’s solution?  Follow some simple rules for eating.

Simple rules for eating:

  • No fat free food – Fat is your friend, not your enemy.
  • Eat real food –Real food does not come in a box.
  • NO GPS – No grains, No potatoes, NO sugar
