How NOT to Gain Weight at Holiday Parties

It’s the holiday season and that means you’re going to be surrounded by temptation. Friends, family and work may be throwing parties full of holiday cookies, treats, and fattening food.

How can you avoid temptation and keep off unwanted pounds? Here are three tips to NOT gain weight at holiday parties.

#1 – Bring a healthy dish to share

Guarantee you’ll have something to eat that doesn’t derail your weight loss goals.  Plus, a lot of your friends and family may be looking for healthy options as well.  They are likely to appreciate your efforts.

#2 – Bring sparkling water

Whether you are hosting or attending a holiday party, do yourself and your guests a favor and have plenty of sparkling water on hand.  One of the best ways to keep off holiday party pounds is to avoid alcohol.

Sparkling water feels festive without the calories of alcohol. Slice up some lemons and limes to add some extra pizazz.

#3 – Don’t go back for seconds

Man that food was good…really good. And you’re still hungry and want to go back for more.  STOP. Give the food you just ate time to digest.  Drink a glass of water. Wait 15 minutes. You’ll likely find you are full and don’t want those second helpings.
