Is the food you are eating helping your body burn fat?

Metabolism is the process by which your body converts what you eat and drink into energy.
Certain foods can increase your metabolism. The higher your metabolism, the more calories you burn and the easier it is to lose weight and get rid of unwanted body fat.

So which foods rev up your metabolism, helping you burn fat and lose weight?

Protein-rich foods help you burn fat

Protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, eggs, dairy, legumes, nuts and seeds, could help increase your metabolism. They require your body to use more energy to digest them. Research shows that protein-rich foods increase your metabolic rate by 15–30%, compared to 5–10% for carbs and 0–3%   for fats.*

Protein-rich foods help you feel full longer

Another benefit to protein-rich foods is that they keep you feeling full longer.  Have you ever eaten a meal and felt hungry again almost right away?  That’s less likely to happen with protein.  And because you feel full longer, you eat and snack less.
