What’s the difference between a non-starchy vegetable and a starchy one? Knowing the answer can be a lifesaver to your weight loss program!
Here’s the most definitive list ever, with over 125 vegetables from A to Z to keep you on track.
Let’s Start With Fat-Burning Non-Starchy Veggies…
We LOVE these veggies, and you will too because you can eat as much of them as you want– and still burn fat like crazy!
Our PTF test kitchen uses these to make an unlimited variety of fun Creative Food Ideas for you to try.
Baby bok choy
Bell peppers (all)
Carrots, raw (cooked carrots are starchy)
Dark leafy greans (ALL are your friends!)
Hearts of palm
Herbs (thyme, parsley, basil, cilantro, rosemary, dill, sage, mint, lemongrass, wasabi)
Hot peppers (all– as much as you can handle, hot stuff!)
And Here Are The Starchy Vegetables…
It’s not that these veggies are BAD for you. You’ll find some of them in our wonderful veggie blends– in perfect portions to promote weight loss and keep you satisfied. We just recommend not adding any more of these veggies to your program while you are in weight loss mode
Once you get to your goal weight, you can try slowly re-introducing these veggies. If you don’t gain weight, great! If you notice a little weight gain, then you’ll probably only want to eat these in limited quantities.
Carrots, cooked (when carrots are softened by heat, they become starchy)
Peanuts (yep, peanuts are a legumes and belong on this list!)
Potato (any kind or color)
Split green peas
Split yellow peas
